Girl Scout Council of Bergen County Scholarship Program

The Girl Scout Council of Bergen County Scholarship Program was established to provide financial scholarships to help offset fees for currently registered Girl Scouts to participate in Girl Scout programs and to provide financial scholarships to graduating high school seniors pursuing college, university, trade or technical school after high school graduation.

Scholarships for post-secondary study are awarded to graduating seniors who have attained their Girl Scout Gold Award, demonstrating the ideals of the Girl Scout Promise and Law, and have plans to continue their education in two- or four-year college or university programs, technical or trade school immediately after graduation. Scholarships are awarded to honor and recognize academic achievement and outstanding community service as a Girl Scout.

FRED AND MARGARET WEHRAN SCHOLARSHIP FUND
The GSCBC Scholarship Program began in 2003 with a generous gift that established the Fred and Margaret Wehran Scholarship Fund. Its purpose is to award educational scholarships that recognize a girl’s experiences in Girl Scouting and to encourage girls to gain knowledge, skills, confidence and self-reliance that will lead to productive lives.
GSCBC encourages and welcomes donations to the Fred and Margaret Wehran Post-Secondary Scholarship Fund or to the general Scholarship Program. Founders of the Fred and Margaret Wehran Fund believe that donations to the Scholarship Fund are an investment in a girl’s future, in our communities, and in our country. For information on how to support Girl Scout Scholarships, contact the Scholarship Program Coordinator at 201.967.8100.
