Girl Scout Mission

The mission of the Girl Scout Council of Bergen County is to help girls develop their full potential and become competent and resourceful citizens through providing programs relevant to their interests and needs.

Girls register to be members of the Girl Scouts of the USA. The annual dues are $10.00 payable to Girl Scouts of the USA .

    The program levels are:
    • Pre K - K/age 4 - 5
    • Brownie Girl Scout ~ Grades 1 - 3/ages 6-8
    • Junior Girl Scout~ Grades 4 - 6/ages 8-11
    • Girls 11-17 ~ Grades 7 -12

Membership is open to all girls, ages 4-17, regardless of race, color, ethnicity, creed, national origin, or socio-economic status.

Girls meet in troops on a regular basis or they may participate in short term activities or special interest groups. Whatever way, the girl's developmental, educational, emotional and social needs and interests are taken into consideration when planning activities.
Girls are also encouraged to attend summer resident camp at the Girl Scout Camp in Glen Spey, N.Y.
